Princess Cruise Lines

Princess Cruises has become a newer area of focus for us—but for good reason.

We originally started cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), beginning with an Alaska sailing based on a trusted recommendation. That experience set the tone for how we approached cruising—flexible, value-focused, and experience-driven. Since then, we’ve continued sailing with Norwegian while learning the ins and outs of how their system works.

Now, we’re expanding into Princess.

Part of that is practical. We’ve seen itineraries, ships, and pricing that are hard to ignore. And more personally, our son and daughter-in-law will be honeymooning on Princess this July—giving us a real reason to dive deeper into how the experience works from start to finish.

We’re still earlier in our learning curve with Princess compared to Norwegian—but we’re actively researching, planning, and building real-world insight as we go.

Princess offers a noticeably different style of cruising.

It leans more toward:

  • A relaxed, slower-paced onboard experience
  • Strong service and dining consistency
  • Destination-focused itineraries
  • A more traditional cruise atmosphere

For some travelers, that’s exactly what they’re looking for.

For others, especially those who prefer high-energy ships, constant activities, or a more flexible “do your own thing” structure like Norwegian, it may feel different than expected.

That’s why understanding how Princess works before you book matters.

We’re continuing to break down:

  • What the onboard experience actually feels like
  • How Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages work
  • When Princess offers strong pricing and value
  • How itineraries compare to other cruise lines
  • What types of trips Princess is best suited for

As we continue learning—and as we follow along with a real honeymoon sailing—we’ll keep adding practical insights, not just surface-level overviews.

Because like anything in travel, it’s not about whether something is “good” or “bad.”

It’s about whether it’s the right fit for your trip.
